Detailed below are the maximum limits of equipment allowed in each division.
If a lifter chooses to, they may lift wearing only a singlet/soft suit and the required shoes and socks, however may be at a disadvantage if competing in a division where other equipment is allowed.
Raw
- Singlet / soft suit for all lifts
- Belt and wrist wraps are allowed
- Knee sleeves are NOT permitted
- Knee wraps are NOT permitted
- Elbow sleeves are NOT permitted
- Skins or compression wear is NOT permitted
- A tshirt (or sleeveless tshirt) MUST be worn for the squat and the bench press
Classic Raw (WPC) / Raw Plus (GPA)
- Singlet / soft suit for all lifts
- Belt, wrist wraps and knee wraps or knee sleeves are allowed
- Elbow sleeves are NOT permitted
- Skins or compression wear is NOT permitted
- A tshirt (or sleeveless tshirt) MUST be worn for the squat and the bench press
Equipped Single Ply
- Squat suits and deadlift suits will consist of single ply polyester not to extend beyond 4” from the top groin
- The use of single ply briefs is permitted
- Bench shirts will consist of single ply polyester and must be closed back
- If a single ply bench shirt is not worn then a tshirt (or sleeveless tshirt) MUST be worn for the bench press
- Singlet / soft suit must be worn for benchpress
- Velcro is NOT permitted on the bench shirt, squat suit or deadlift suit
- Wrist wraps, knee wraps and belt are allowed
Equipped Multi Ply
- Squat suits and deadlift suits may consist of multiple plies to any thickness
- Velcro straps on the squat suit and deadlift suit are allowed
- Briefs may consist of multiple plies to any thickness
- Bench shirts may consist of multiple plies in polyester, denim, or canvas
- If a multi ply bench shirt is not worn then a tshirt (or sleeveless tshirt) MUST be worn for the bench press
- Singlet / soft suit must be worn for benchpress
- Velcro or open back bench shirts are allowed
- Wrist wraps, knee wraps and belt are allowed
